Fake exchange and loss of access: YompToken swindles a user out of 1 lakh rupees

On the r/cryptocurrencyscams forum, user AdMajestic1622 shared a sad story about how his brother lost around 1 lakh rupees (roughly $1,100–1,200) on the YompToken platform. According to AdMajestic1622, the scheme was a classic one: the victim was lured in with an arbitrage opportunity, made to deposit funds, and when it came time to withdraw, additional KYC requirements were thrown at him.

The most alarming part began a week later. According to AdMajestic1622, his brother's account access simply vanished. The system still recognizes his email, but the old password no longer works, and password reset emails stopped arriving altogether. It gives the impression that the scammers deliberately locked out the victim to cover their tracks. The author asks for help tracing the wallets the money went to in order to file an official report with the cyber police, while sternly warning that he will not be paying fake "recovery services".

In the comments, users told it like it is. According to user UpbeatFix7299, no real exchange ever existed — the entire interface was a fake. The person who recommended this site runs it himself: the money was stolen the moment it was transferred, and the pretty profits on screen were drawn up merely to squeeze new deposits out of the victim. He added that criminals are behind this, and waiting for support or a refund from them is pointless.

According to user defiCosmos, this is just a standard scam that the community runs into every day. The other commenters were even more blunt. User Smuggy34 advised accepting the loss as a life lesson, while users havreflarnskranen and wadap12345 left merciless but honest comments: "The money is gone".
