A troubling warning about the Chainstack Protocol platform has appeared on Reddit in the r/CryptoScams community. According to user Educational-Fuel9, he has already transferred over $30,000 in BTC to the scammers, including trading deposits and fees, but has never been able to withdraw his funds.
The scheme, as is often the case, was built on endless promises. The user noted that the copy-trading manager kept convincing him that each next payment was the "final step" to unlocking withdrawals. But as soon as the money was sent, a new reason for another charge immediately appeared: taxes, a transfer fee (COT), a wallet activation fee, or transaction processing costs. As the author of the post himself admits, looking back, he wishes he had stopped sooner.
In the comments, users quickly set the record straight. According to user UpbeatFix7299, any such copy-trading offer you hear about online is 100% fake. User Rogers-Dodgers classified the situation as a typical "pig butchering" scheme, in which the victim is groomed for a long time while more and more money is squeezed out of them under contrived pretexts. And user studio169k even asked whether the victim's manager was a certain Travis — a nod to a popular name in the arsenal of such scam teams.
Particular attention in the discussion was given to the question of names. According to user SecureWriting8589, fixating on the name Chainstack Protocol is pointless, since scammers constantly change their branding to evade accountability. What matters far more is recognizing the fraud patterns themselves. The author of the post agreed with this, clarifying that he had mentioned the service's name only so that other people could find his experience through search and think twice before sending money.
The takeaway from this story is simple but vital: if you are asked to make additional transfers to withdraw your own profits, it is a scam. As was rightly pointed out in the thread, it is the platform's behavior that gives the scammers away completely, no matter how attractive a brand they happen to be operating under at the moment.
