In the r/Scam_Finder community, user professorKPrn asked for help to verify a suspiciously good deal on a car. The seller wouldn't answer calls, used a phone number with a different area code, but provided a link to what seemed like a legitimate website and a contact email.
According to user Applauce, the website is a 100% scam. They checked the domain and found out it was only registered in January, and when navigating to the homepage, the site throws an Internal Server Error, which is atypical for real businesses. Furthermore, the user pointed out glaring brand inconsistencies: the address bar shows "Vehicles Equipment Sales", the site logo says "Express Used Auto" and the contact email uses "Autos Express".
According to user Applauce, the physical address listed on the site actually leads to the parking lot of a local clinic. Navigation around the store's pages also raises suspicions, as it redirects users to other third-party domains that were registered a few months ago. User professorKPrn thanked them for the detailed breakdown, admitting that they didn't have the technical knowledge to spot these red flags in time.
