The resource appears in Google search results alongside legitimate retailers like Target and Walmart. According to user eberman325, the main red flag was the unrealistically low product prices. Additionally, when attempting to log into an account, the site offered authentication through the "Shop" (Shopify) app, even though the user didn't even have a profile there. The author has already filed complaints with Google Safe Browsing and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

In the comments, users broke down the mechanics of the scam and shared advice. According to user Lodau, using a .it (Italy) domain for a US-based store is an obvious absurdity, and the site "recognizing" the email was due to saved cookies in the victim's browser, not a hack. According to users yarevande and OneSeaworthiness7768, scammers buy Google sponsored ads (Sponsored Results) to appear at the very top of the search results.

According to user Annual-Bear4542, a similar phishing scheme is also operating in Canada through the fake website Pyrexcanada, which also processes payments and steals card data.
