Fake IT employment for Non-Existent vacancies and the use of other's testimonials

In the r/Scams community, user True-Win1193 shared a warning about the platform RemoteStack, which promises to help people land remote IT jobs. After a promotional consultation, the author was billed $7,000 to participate in their program. However, before making the payment, he decided to conduct his own investigation.

The main red flag was the video testimonials on the company's website. According to user True-Win1193, he personally contacted several people featured in these videos. It turned out that they had no idea their recordings were being used to promote Remote Stack, as they were originally filmed for completely different organizations. Furthermore, an internet search revealed numerous negative discussions and reviews about the platform's marketing and sales tactics, which completely dissuaded the author from paying.

In the comments, experienced professionals supported the author's caution. According to user CLTGUY, a tech hiring manager with nearly 30 years of experience, he had never heard of this company and would immediately disqualify any candidate with such a certificate on their resume, treating it as outright deception. He advised learning tech skills at accredited local colleges and building professional networks instead of going into debt for dubious courses that do not guarantee actual employment.
