Fraud allegations on the FixedFloat platform

An investigation into a new accusation on the BitcoinTalk forum has revealed serious violations in the operations of the exchange service FixedFloat. According to user Onat, the platform has been withholding 1.9 BTC (split into transactions of 1.4 and 0.5 BTC) sent on December 11 for over 40 days. A detailed analysis of the situation reveals several critical anomalies: customer support limited itself to template responses, the ticket was artificially closed with a "resolved" status without the actual disbursement of funds, and independent blockchain analytics recorded the movement of coins during the period when the order was allegedly in a "frozen" state. The service attempted to justify the blockade using points 6-7 of its Terms of Use; however, it provided neither law enforcement warrants, nor specific timeframes for the investigation, nor substantiated accusations of criminal activity.

This incident is not isolated and fits clearly into an established behavioral pattern of the platform. According to user acroman08, FixedFloat has been causing problems for clients for a long time, and the service's official representative on the forum has a negative trust tag. According to user Trêvoid, who previously created a separate thread to systematize the service's abuses (link to thread), FixedFloat operates as a "selective scammer" and a "trap", luring clients with low exchange rates, but then deliberately confiscating large deposits.

Commentators also pointed out risk management errors on the part of the victim, although this does not absolve the service of guilt. According to user coupable, mass complaints about the quality of FixedFloat's work have been coming in since 2018, and sending almost two bitcoins at once was an unjustified risk. User CryptSafe supported this stance, emphasizing that when dealing with unpopular platforms that do not have official threads on the forum, funds must be withdrawn in fractional parts. Nevertheless, as researchers note, even a long positive experience of using such a service cannot serve as a guarantee of safety when conducting high-liquidity swaps.

Summarizing the collected data, it can be stated that there is an extremely high level of counterparty risk when interacting with the platform in question. The combination of factors — on-chain confirmations of fund movement, customer support's evasion of dialogue, the attempt to impose a KYC procedure post-factum without guarantees of return, as well as an abundance of identical complaints — indicates that the withholding of 1.9 BTC is deliberate in nature.
