User @XMRVoid shared how someone lost 33 XMR through the @runeswap_io service. According to the post, after the swap, support blamed everything on a "system update" and offered to let them "claim" the funds via a smart contract. The guy drained his wallet just to test it out — and sure enough, nothing came back.

The screenshots show the Telegram back-and-forth: first it's "we'll sort it out," then a long explanation about a complicated unlock process that takes up to 14 days, plus an offer to create a new swap for the same amount. Later they sent a link to a refund page asking him to connect the same wallet for "authentication." Textbook move: get the person to sign a transaction that drains their funds.

In the comments, @xolandar put it bluntly: "Never swap that much at once. Always do small numbers. Better be safe than sorry". He also suggested checking out Trocador — according to him, they've got insurance coverage.

@BorisBladeKGB chimed in with a similar story: he recently fell for a phishing scam himself, and the support message was almost word-for-word identical. "Boils me. Cunts!" — short and to the point.

The service itself used to be on all the lists (including Monerica), ran fine for a while with reasonable rates, and then apparently decided to "wipe the slate clean". The post's author noted that a cached version of the site was still floating around for a bit, but it got taken down once the deadline passed.

The takeaway is simple: sending big amounts in one shot to unknown no-KYC swaps is a bad idea. Even if a service has been around forever and had solid reviews, one "system error" can cost you your entire deposit. Stay safe out there.
