The Monerica website has been operating since 2022 and has managed to gain the trust of a large audience. On various forums, this exchanger directory is often mentioned as a reliable and noteworthy resource. However, behind this attractive facade lies a completely different picture.

The first doubts arose after a discovery on the Bits.Media forum. On January 21, 2026, a user with the nickname saylor22 published a report: he created an exchange request through the BitcoinVN service but did not make the payment. After that, he went to Monerica and left a 5-star positive review, providing the ID of the expired order. Sometime later, the review appeared on the website—without any verification of whether the transaction actually took place.

Considering that since that post, Monerica has updated its design and started assigning the "Valid Order" status to reviews, I decided to check if the situation had changed.

Experiment #1 (06/21/2026)

I created an order on the SageSwap platform and did not make the payment. After waiting for the order to expire, I wrote a positive review. Result: my review was published without any issues and received the coveted "Valid Order" tag.

Experiment #2 (08/18/2026)

I repeated the same steps, but this time I chose CCE.Cash as the exchanger. The result was absolutely identical: the fake review successfully passed moderation and was once again marked as a "Valid Order".

But fake positive reviews are only half of the problem. It has been mentioned online multiple times that Monerica's administration easily hands out "Scam" tags to services. At the same time, major scammers who have stolen substantial amounts (for example, Tomboi, who stole $100,000, or ByWare) are simply quietly deleted from the directory. No traces, no warnings for users—as if they were never there in the first place.

It is impossible to accurately calculate the number of fake reviews on Monerica since 2022. But judging by the fact that moderation is either non-existent or frankly poor, there is a legion of such reviews on the site.

The scheme is dangerously simple: a potential scammer easily writes positive reviews for themselves to lure in clients. A trusting user sees the "Valid Order" status, calmly sends their money there, and loses it. And if the scam amount turns out to be too large and causes a stir, the administration simply deletes the scammer's page, quietly and without any unnecessary fuss.
