Over on r/CryptoScams, user PracticalShallot5975 has posted a detailed breakdown of an incident involving a service called Fiatside.
The victim tried to swap 78.99 USDT on the TRC-20 network for 66.08 EUR with a payout to their PayPal account. The service generated an order, FSD-5SBY-RXYB, and gave them a personal deposit address. The customer sent the exact amount, and the transaction confirmed just fine on the Tron blockchain.
But here's the catch – the order status in the Fiatside dashboard stayed stuck at zero (0 out of 20 confirmations), and the euro payout to PayPal never showed up.
The platform's tech support was nowhere to be found. According to PracticalShallot5975, Gmail bounced the message with a delivery error because Fiatside's mail server was down. Trying to reach them through the site's contact form didn't work either: the form threw up a warning that the sending gateway wasn't hooked up to this environment, and suggested manually resending the text to – you guessed it – the same dead email address.
In the site's legal section, the basic company details (official name, registration number, jurisdiction, VAT, and physical address) are all marked as "pending publication". The service's own documentation even admits that the agreement texts are just templates that haven't been legally reviewed yet.
The commenters under the post were pretty skeptical. User me227a pointed out that the site looks brand new and has literally been around for a month, which raises the question of how the OP even stumbled across it. User Ok_Bed_1448 said it straight up: the platform is fake, it's barely a month old, and it's a scam. Meanwhile, user VivaHollanda sarcastically asked why the author didn't do their homework and vet the service beforehand – the very thing they're now urging everyone else to do.
As things stand, the red flags point to an extremely high risk of dealing with Fiatside: your money lands in a deposit wallet, the order status never updates, there's basically no way to get in touch with the admins, and the legal entity behind it all is a mystery. Users are advised to steer clear of any transactions with this platform.
