Fake remote work scam Holdely

In the r/Scams community, user Elgreco52 described a scam known as a "task scam," which he fell victim to while looking for a side job. He was offered a remote job on the Holdely platform on behalf of a company registered in Colorado. For completing 40 or more sets of tasks on their platform, they promised to pay a salary and commissions in cryptocurrency. However, according to the post's author, completing all the tasks periodically required depositing his own funds. If he refused to do so, the earned money and bonuses were frozen on his work account until all conditions were met. After a week, the required amounts started to grow, and the company's management eventually admitted that they were actually operating from abroad.

Community members unanimously confirmed that this is a classic scam scheme. According to user UpbeatFix7299, the offered job is completely meaningless, and the first payment the author received was the money of previous victims. In real companies, money always flows from the employer to the employee, not the other way around. User yarevande added that legitimate employers do not send out job offers to people who haven't applied for vacancies, nor do they pay salaries in cryptocurrency for simple clicks.

According to user Buffyredpoodle, no normal job requires employees to spend personal money on company needs. User Gloomy-Security-7897 noted that scammers might allow a small withdrawal to create an illusion of trust, but it is impossible to withdraw all the "earned" funds.
