User fakicro warns about the fraudulent service GiftSpend, which specializes in selling gift cards for cryptocurrency. According to him, he tried to buy a Steam card, paying with Monero (XMR) coins. The transaction was confirmed on the blockchain in just two minutes, but the order status on the site was instantly frozen. The platform displayed an automatic message about supposedly ongoing "XMR network issues" and recommended making the payment using a different cryptocurrency.

The main trap awaited the victim when he tried to contact customer support. According to user fakicro, the site simply doesn't allow opening a ticket without making a new deposit. The scammers claim that "priority support" is available only for accounts with an active transaction, so the victim needs to transfer more money in order to be able to request a refund for the first order. The site also lacks any contact email addresses whatsoever. The author of the post urges everyone to steer clear of this resource, since after transferring funds, users are simply blackmailed into making new deposits.
