On the BitcoinTalk forum, users have exposed yet another batch of phishing sites that lure victims with promises of huge winnings and free tokens.

According to user albon, a scammer registered a fresh account and created a thread advertising a website called "SHIB Win & Burn," hosted on a free Netlify domain. The platform promised a chance to win up to 100,000 USDT for a modest entry fee of 5 USDT, claiming that a portion of the funds would go towards burning SHIB tokens. As the author notes, the main goal of this scheme is to trick the victim into connecting their crypto wallet to the phishing domain and paying the entry fee, which ultimately results in the wallet being completely drained.

In the comments, user crypto pointed out that such schemes appear all the time. They discovered a similar website, CASHCAT, which promised a giveaway of CASHCAT tokens. The scammers even used the official data of the real project from CoinMarketCap to appear more convincing, even though the domain itself had been registered just a day prior. The mechanics are exactly the same: users are asked to connect their wallet to receive the "airdrop", after which their funds are stolen.

Thanks to the vigilance of the forum members, the advertising threads were quickly deleted, and the scammer's accounts were banned. User albon also reported the phishing domain to Netlify's support team and the domain registrar. User The Cryptovator emphasized that scammers prey on people's greed, citing an example of how an acquaintance lost all their money simply by connecting their wallet to a similar site. For protection, users advise keeping large sums in hardware wallets and immediately closing the tab if an unknown website asks you to connect your wallet to claim a prize.
