In the r/Scams community, user FullSendHuman warned about the fraudulent website Hudsonautobids, which positions itself as an online auction for bank-repossessed cars (REO). The platform even has a Google profile and lists its address at 5XXX Freedom Dr in Columbia, Missouri. However, according to user FullSendHuman, this address actually belongs to the legitimate dealership Head Motor Company. The author called the real company and found out they know nothing about Hudsonautobids.

The essence of the scam is revealed after the auction ends. The victim who won the auction is told that they must transfer the money via wire transfer within 24 hours. According to the post's author, the funds are supposed to be sent to the account of "Auto Dominion Motors LLC" at Bank of America at an address in Denver, Colorado. In reality, the scammers do not have any cars, and they do not operate at the stated addresses. User FullSendHuman emphasizes that under no circumstances should you transfer money via unprotected methods if the company does not accept payment in person or through an escrow service.

In the comments, users discussed ways to identify and combat such schemes. According to user SpudzzSomchai, a check showed that the website's domain was only registered at the end of April, which is a classic sign of a newly created scam project. User Infinite-Grade-4485 recommended filing a complaint on the IC3 website, providing the scammer's banking details so the bank could freeze their account. The author of the post confirmed that they had already submitted reports to the IC3 and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
