User even1206 reported on the BitcoinTalk forum that the ChangeHero exchange has been holding his 93,588 USDT for quite some time. According to him, he initiated an exchange from ERC20 to TRC20, but the transaction was instantly frozen. The user fully completed the KYC and AML procedures, providing all requested documents; however, the exchange continues to hold the funds, responding only with automated messages asking him to wait. The author sent ChangeHero a 48-hour ultimatum demanding that it either process the exchange or return the money to the original address, and is preparing to file complaints with the financial and law enforcement authorities of Costa Rica and Hong Kong.

In the comments, users confirmed that ChangeHero has long had a reputation as a problematic platform. According to user FinneysTrueVision, the exchange has a rating of only 5 out of 10 on the kycnot.me service, and on the BitcoinTalk forum its account has been given negative trust due to a previous incident involving the withholding of $21,000. In that case, the exchange did eventually return the money, but only several months after the exchange was initiated. He noted that there are many similar complaints on Reddit, and the scheme looks like selective fraud: the exchange waits for large transactions and then blocks them, creating as many obstacles as possible to getting the money back.

User hugeblack added that ChangeHero has a long history of similar cases and advised the author to post complaints on Reddit, as this may yield results faster than the forum. User Trêvoid asked outright why anyone would even use ChangeHero for exchanges, given their reputation and the serious concerns about the platform's reliability and transparency.
