In August 2026, a warning about a new fraudulent cloud mining project: Hashfactory.io — was published on the Bitcointalk forum. Forum users quickly identified a number of critical discrepancies indicating a scam and flagged the reputation of the account associated with the project.

According to user SFR10, the platform claims to have three years of experience, but WHOIS data shows that the domain was registered just a few days before the complaint was posted, on August 3, 2026. Furthermore, the contact phone number [screenshot] listed on the website belongs to a gynecology clinic (gynsurgery.is), and an unrealistic bonus of an additional 25% hash rate is offered when purchasing miners. The user also noted a match in the activity times of the Hashfactory representative's account and a previously known scammer, Al-Ghifary, which may indicate that it is the same person.

According to user JeromeTash, the texts on the website were generated using artificial intelligence, and the resource itself does not provide any real photographs or physical addresses to confirm its legitimacy. According to user robelneo, mandatory registration is required to view the pricing plans, after which the service suddenly claims to have 12 years of experience. He also found out that the address listed on the website in Iceland is fake and cannot be used to house real mining farms.

A project representative under the nickname Hashfactory2 attempted to defend the service's reputation. According to him, the new domain was registered due to issues with their "No KYC" policy; at the same time, he threatened to complain to the Cypriot authorities about another project (Duelbits) promoted by the author of the complaint, and accused forum members of slander. However, users did not accept these excuses. According to user Zwei, the scammers' logic is absurd: they offer to rent out equipment that generates profit, instead of mining themselves and keeping all the income.

The situation surrounding Hashfactory.io is a classic example of a pyramid scheme (HYIP) disguised as cloud mining. Forum users continue to push for the domain to be suspended through the registrar Namecheap in order to prevent financial losses for new investors.
