A warning about a new fraudulent scheme abusing the functionality of the educational platform Quizlet has appeared in the r/Scams community. Victims receive official emails inviting them to a study class, sent from legitimate Quizlet servers. However, instead of actual study materials, the class is used to advertise a crypto scam: its title contains a call to claim 5,000 USDT on the website 745tronethbet using the promo code TRONE****, and the fake name "bitpay" is listed as the "teacher".

According to the author of the post, the deception mechanism is extremely simple: scammers create a class on Quizlet and insert their promotional text directly into its title. When they send invitations to user's email addresses, official Quizlet servers generate and send out the notifications. Since the email is genuine and actually comes from Quizlet, it easily bypasses spam filters and phishing protection systems. The author urges users not to click on links in such invitations, to mark them as spam, and to report the class to the platform's support team to get the scammer's account blocked.
